Enter the Palm Beach club Tournament and cook out.

The Palm Beach club will be sponsoring a Fishing Tournament in Martin and Port St. Luice counties. It was going to be in November but the date for it had winds forecast to be 20 to 25 and the days leading up to it were not good either and the waters were mucked up. This will be the first of 4 tournaments, each in a different area. Location for weigh in and cook out will be at Sandspirt Park. Cook out will start at 2pm and check in for the Tourny will start at 3 pm. This is open to all kayak fishermen and women, so come on up and catch a bunch of fish.

The fee for the Tournament will be $20 and all the money will be paid back to the three first place winners. The So. Fla. club could have (should have) a good representation at this tournament. Also, one of the tournaments will be in/for Broward and Dade counties.

This was the message from Darin, the organizer of the tournament:
"Ok folks, Mother Nature is going to have her way again. She has decided that Sun is the day to blow 20-25 mph by lunch time and starting the morning at 15-20. The wind has already been up for the past couple of days and calling for 10-15 mph all day Sat. This will have all the waters very dirty and 20-25 mph is not safe or comfortable in boat let alone a kayak. So that being said we will be postponing the Tourney. With the upcoming Holidays and all the things that go with that we will hold it on Sat. Jan 18, 2014. I will be working on trying to get some sponsorship in between now and then. Currently the location will remain the same. More details to follow. Happy Holidays to all and will see you on the water soon I’m sure."

We now have a page for you to make your Tournament Fee Payment with PayPal and it also has the rules:

For the cook-out, Scott Rispaud has this for getting it all together for what people should bring.

"Here is my two cents on what can be done to help as I hear a lot of offering to support the effort.

The date was changed but this club does not allow us to change the date on the site so this Meetup has not happened and will be for March 29th.

Hi, i'm not familiar with the location.
Is this an offshore event? What fish we target here?

Hi Leandro. Take a look at the rules and you will have all your questions answered. Click on the above link like you are going to pay the fee, but instead you can then go to the rules from there. This is an offshore or inshore or fresh water event.

Thanks for posting the meet up. I'd go but it's too far north for me.
