Pre-Dawn Fishing @ Pelican Harbor

Update: Forecast for 6:30am is 52 degrees!!

Anything below 70 is to cold for me so I won't I've won't be  attending. For those braving the cold temps.. bay waters should be smooth. Tight Lines!

Sorry I missed you guys. I had to do some shopping. I did go out Sunday night on the head boat. It was a banner night. Between 3 of us we caught over 50 fish. We brought home 35. Of the 35 I would say 25 - 28 were all nice sized yellowtail

We Piggy-Backed this Meetup cause we didn't have our own. Posted a few pics. Ours was at Morningside in the 24th, and I also had a few from previous outings.

Nice looks like all the fish went to the south side of pelican. I usually fish the north, but its been dead the last few times i've gone. Guess i gotta hit that big grass flat on tuesday.

Weather forecast says it will be 52degrees at 6:30am. Waay too cold for me. Anyone want to launch at 11am (72 degrees) at Morningside and fish deeper water down by the Julia Tuttle?

Good time on the water! Wasn't that cold and it warmed up quick. Had consistent but small trout along the channel markers. Very little boat traffic. Picked up 3 good sized trout...not to long but all nice and fat! Much better than doing yard work!

I'm going to get there around 7am and launch just after sunrise. Plan is to fish the edge of the channel and flats as the tide goes out and the sun warms the shallows.

I have never launched from this site. Where is the kayak launch?

    December 21, 2012

    • Brian B.

I edited the map...the launch is right next to the green marker on the south side of the causeway. Parking is $6 ($15 with a trailer) and we launch from the boat ramps.
