Let's face it...our parents are old school. It's time to bring a new meaning to being young and Lebanese in San Francisco!
The idea to start this group came to me over time...I am a Recruiter and one day I was given an assignment to find an Arabic-speaking software engineer....so, I started calling everyone who had "Arabic" on their resume. 20 minutes later :), I ran out of resumes. Then, onto Facebook. It wasn't the best recruiting strategy, I admit, but wow, it was fun! I ended up connecting with some Lebanese folks, one of them even knew my father! It's such a small world....
I run another successful meet up for professional networking and one day it clicked, why don't I start getting a new group of young Lebanese together to do what we do best....math! Just kidding...I meant, eat and party! Just kidding again, well, kind of.
So here it is. This group is meant for social gatherings involving food, drink, and the company of Lebanese, Lebanese-Americans, Arabic-speakers, those of Middle-Eastern origin and friends and fans (I have a very tongue-in-cheek style of humor in case you didn't pick up on that, by the way).
It's 2010 and if you are like a lot of us with Lebanese parents, your impression of Lebanon and Lebanese-culture is a bit outdated. Let's start a new Lebanese-American culture in San Francisco.
This group is recommended for ages 21-40.
