Ring in the new year with....Paintball!

Salaams,

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season and taking some days off from work and/or school! I was thinking we can kick off the new year with a fun outdoor group event. Bungee jumping? Maybe. Sky diving? Maybe. Hide and seek? Maybe. Paintball? YES! It would be my first time, but it sounds like a lot of fun. If we get enough people, we can do a private session so that we're not getting shot at by crazy teenagers.

I asked around and it seems like Santa Clara Paintball would be a good choice. I will get final pricing soon, but it will cost between $50-$70 per person. The more people we get, the lower we can get the price. Each person will receive the following:

Admission
Semi-automatic paintball marker (tank and hopper included)
Battle mask- Also known as full face shield.
500 paintballs
Unlimited air to power your equipment
Chest Protector and Neck Guard

I heard it can be sort of painful, but don't let that discourage you! It will most likely be a little chilly outside, so we will all be layered up anyways :)

For any members who are new or haven't been to a meetup yet, this could be a great event to attend! We will likely be split into teams so its a great opportunity to make friends.....and.....enemies :p

See you soon!

So it looks like it will cost approx $30 per person, which is not bad at all. Please keep the RSVP list as accurate as possible and feel free to bring friends!

How long is the event? Is it more than 2 hours? I had some other appointments that I may need to reschedule.

Salaam Ahmed how are you? I believe it depends on how long it will take you to use 500 paintballs. Most places have set scenarios/games that last 20-30 minutes each. From what I've heard, actual game time may be an hour in total. However, just getting everyone together and getting started may take some time on the front end. Anyone with more experience, please chime in!

At one paintball per second, that would be less than 9 minutes :)

Haaris, you said Appx $30 per person but the Groupon is 12 peeps for $55. That equals $19 each. What is the additional cost for?

    January 15, 2014

    • Heidi K.

Oops math WAAAAYYY off! It comes out to $4.50 a person (whoosh, long day)

I am driving down from SF if anyone wants to carpool

    January 14, 2014

  • Harris M

Yes, let's do the groupon. I can purchase the $55 package for 12. Should we purchase another package in case we have more than 12 people? I think someone else would have to purchase that since the groupon can only be used once per visit. Like Sayed said, we can split the cost accordingly so it will be less than $6.00 per person + the cost of paintballs and refills.

Thank you Harris! The only caveat is that it says online registration is required. Have we registered online?
I think one groupon should be enough if others decide to cancel, but maybe we should get 2 to be safe?

      January 13, 2014

    • Harris M

Yeah you have to register the voucher from groupon at the Paintball International website. It's instant.

Was a decision made about the groupon?

    January 12, 2014

  • Nina G

I saw this groupon for our paintball thing. Does anyone already have this? Because it would save us tons.

Is it for the same location as this event? I wanna goso tge budget way works for me

      1 · January 3, 2014

    • Sayed

Nina, good call! This Groupon can be redeemed at the Santa clara paintball. They have a $55 groupon for a group of 12 and if we split that it will come out to $4.58 per person. I am assuming some people will back out, either way it will come out cheaper anyways... This Groupon does not include Paintballs and air refills so that is additional charge of 20 to 30 bucks...So one person can buy this and then we can always split the cost.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
