I have a black standard poodle named Hope, who is my service dog. I am currently living with my parents' who also have an adorable poodle/shih tzu mix, named Chewy.
Chewy came from the Marin Humane Society almost two years ago. I wanted to adopt my dog, but needing a service dog limited my options. Hope came from a very responsible breeder instead.
I would LOVE to volunteer (but it would have to be something that I could still do despite my disabilities). I started volunteering at shelters when I was about 10. I started off doing several humane society kids programs, I collected shelter donations, I even started my own fundraisers. Animal welfare has been my life since I can remember. I would love to put my knowledge of veterinary medicine (was a veterinary assistant for eight years), my love of dog training (very knowledgeable as I am training my own service dog), and all of my animal experience from owning rescues as diverse as hermit crabs to horses, to good use.
I would love to donate time. I can not afford to donate money at this time.
I'm Neisha and I am a huge animal lover. Prior to my disability, my life goal was to become a shelter medicine veterinarian. I volunteered in central america and set up free spay/neuter clinics with a local org. I will do whatever I can for animals.
