Meetup Group Description Updated on 7/26/11.

Hello!  Welcome to "Socialize for a Cause!"  My name is Esther Hwang and I'm delighted to be your host.  Recently I decided to change the direction of this meetup as we were formerly called "Party for a Cause" (see below).  I'm changing the direction of our mission statement because I'm trying to build a network for quality people of substance and of genuine giving hearts who can come together to socialize and help a 'cause.'  After doing this for some time now, I realized that unfortunately parties are not the best places to find that rare combination.  I also don't care too much if we are considered VIP anywhere except amongst us.  Additionally, you don't have to have a lot of money or be affluent to be a part of our group.  Sometimes VIP entails an extra fee- and I don't want to limit our group just for that superficial reason.  If you have a giving heart, you want to meet other like minded people who enjoy socializing and giving back to the community- you found us!

I started this meetup because I survived cancer from 2008-2010.  As a professional model (www.esther.com) I endured obstacles where I know now it's nothing short of a miracle that I'm not just modeling, but that I'm alive and healthy again.  I want to share that drive and passion with all of you!  Earlier this year I started Pandora's Hope Foundation- a 501 (c) tax exempt status non profit organization dedicated to helping underprivileged children who live under the federal poverty guidelines and women stricken with cancer.  This meetup will mostly be centered around my non profit and other charity events, outings, fundraiser mixers and fun social gatherings... all with the purpose of helping, aiding, and supporting 'a cause.'

Please join me at our meetups.  I think this renewed sense of direction will give you back so much more than you can give the 'cause.'  Thank you for your kindness.  God bless us all!

My name is Esther of www.esther.com. I am a veteran, SF based professional model. I've always had a knack for partying and bringing people together. I am starting this meet up because I'd like to bring together like minded quality people who are not just looking for a good time but want to help make a difference in our community. We will visit only the most hip, happening and newest venues in San Francisco for lounging, clubbing, day trips for wine tastings, and dinners to trendy restaurants.  With each event, we will pick a charity/non profit to donate a portion of the proceeds to. This membership will require a reasonable donation which will go into the charity of our choice (as mentioned above), and to pay for our VIP services rendered which can be in the form of tips for good service, photography services, car/group bus or limo services etc.  With our 'group' power and my contacts, I think we will still end up getting a fair if not great deal for our VIP status.  Each event will require a pay-pal, pre-paid flat dollar amount covering the donation to the charity and to pay for the event itself. This is more of a high end, classy, and exclusive social club so if you're looking to surround yourself with those type of people you found us! I believe when going out- don't do it unless you do it right. And 'right' means doing it with good intentions, great company, and some serious style!
