Subject: [SFVBluegrass] Earl. Yeah..."THE" Earl at UCLA.

There are only a few true giants of Bluegrass music.  Of course, Bill Monroe has to be listed first.

Among those that might be listed next, Earl Scruggs is at the top.  He was there when Bluegrass was born.  In essence, he invented the sound so many banjo players strive to replicate.  Of course, the only way to make your banjo sound like Earl's banjo is to have Earl play it.

He's 87 years old now and still performing.  On November 5, he'll be a Royce Hall at UCLA.

There are few times when you get a chance to hear the originator of something.  Would you like to attend a physics lecture presented by Einstein?  How about watching Jarvick put in an artificial heart?  Maybe you'd like to hear Edison himself talking about his telephone?   If Ma Rainey were singing, would you buy a ticket?

If you go, you'll tell people for decades "I saw Earl live, in concert."  If you don't go, you'll kick youself for letting such an opportunity slip away.  Tickets start at $20.00.

See you there everyone.
