I'm teaching myself guitar. It's a slow process for I work hard all day then cook up dinner for the fam. when I get home. I have a wife, Marcia and a 9 year old daughter Jess. I like a wide variety of music from metal to classical. I like to cook. Marcia's not as big a Sci-Fi fan as I am, but she admits that she had a great time at Galaxy Fest with me. I try sharing my interests with my family but it doesn't always land. My little girl is starting to do more things without me. I sometimes just get blank looks from Marcia, which is fine. I don't expect them to like everything I do. My friends are also pretty busy so we don't get together near as much as we used to. Galaxy Fest was my first convention. It was a real eye-opener. I found that there is a whole lot people right here in Colorado Springs who just love Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Steampunk just as much, if not more than, I do.
No way am I going to lists every title. Here are some in no particular order. Movies: Star Wars, A Clockwork Orange, League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Crow, Strange Brew, The Matrix, The Blues Bros., Stripes.........T.V.: Big Bang Theory, Workaholics, Arrested Development, Boston Legal, Srubs, Modern Family, The Daily Show, David Letterman, Battlestar Galactica (old & new), STNG, American Dad..........Books: Lots of How To.., The Elric series, Captain Nemo, X-Files, and I do count comic books and graphic novels as books. I only use youtube to check out bands old and new. These are just some titles off of the top of my head. I'm sure later I'll remember really good ones only after I've sent this on.
I most definitely want to meet people with similar interest!! Attend events!! I want to see if this group and I are a good fit. Typing and computer screens are taking their toll on me right now. I don't want to cut this short. I'd like to check your group out. Sounds fun and interesting. Maybe even thought provoking.
I've the words Tesla, Steampunk group in Colorado Springs at the Galaxy Fest. So I typed them into BING and this is what I've found.
