Sorry about that, stood up to exit and head for the pub and felt so awful I went to bed. Feeling better this morning.

I set off for the pub expecting a lively group including a couple of new members and found when I arrived that everyone had bailed out and only Rodger was there. The barman had especially reserved the big table for us, so we sat there beneath my new "meet-up" sign feeling a bit silly. Still, we had a good time and the beer was, as usual, excellent, so we just felt sorry for all of you who missed out. Roger expressed surprise that no one he had asked had heard of The Year of the Sex Olympics. Perhaps we should organise a viewing of it and then we can discuss it one Monday soon.I hope to see more of you next week.Paul Brazier, convenor

Sorry I can't make it this time, a family commitment has just come up.
Hello - I can't make this week, been requisitioned for a pub quiz by some schoolfriends I rarely see. Bit suspicious there was an element of zombie-like brain-pawing to the invitation - they overestimate my knowledge of the 70s singles charts and grand national winners...

We love science fiction and want to talk about it.
We read and discuss one book a month -- but discussion ranges over the whole gamut of media and related genres and there will be forays into other such areas according to demand.
It is to be hoped this group will attract not only fanatics but people new to the genre and, perhaps, some who had forgotten just how much they love it.
Please nominate any books you regard as science fiction in the discussion forum here:
