Hike to Sadie Hawkins and South Hawkins

Last day of summer, hope to see you there! I do not have all the stats just yet. Believe it to be about 11 miles. A loop trip leaving from Crystal Lake, up to Windy Gap then follow the PCT to Hawkins ridge over the two peaks and back down the fire road to complete the loop.

It started out cooler than I had expected at the beginning but changing into my long sleeve compression shirt did the trick. Andrew, thanks for a great day. Beautiful sky, views, company, cold beer afterwards. Had an awesome day. Good seeing you!

Hi guys! Just wanted to let you know, I was eaten by a mountain lion. Writing you from heaven (of course). The good news is, they have internet here. --Seriously, I made it home safely and had a great time. I hiked to Mt Islip. Then I went all the way around on Islip ridge to the south of Crystal Lake. It was great hiking alone for the first time. At first every lizard scared me, but I got used to sounds and noises. The sun and wind were wonderful. And yes, I did take that nap on top of Mt Islip. It was nice meeting you all and I hope to see you again. How was your hike?

From Interstate 210 in Azusa, take Azusa Avenue (Hwy 39) north through Azusa and into the San Gabriel Canyon. At about 3 miles from the freeway you'll pass the Forest Service Gateway Center (1960 North San Gabriel Canyon Road (Hwy 39), Azusa, CA 91702.) on your right. Note your odometer. Continue up Hwy 39 for 21 miles to the signed entrance to the Crystal Lake Recreation Area. Turn right drive 2 miles to the visitor center and snack shop. Continue (staying left of the visitor center.A National Forest Adventure Pass is required for parking.

Does one need an Adventure Pass? Also would like an exact address; the link doesn't link to much of anything.
