I did not summit but I had the time of my life; thanks Andrew for opening up a whole new world of beauty and majesty; I did manage to accomplish 18+ miles on my own and partly with Debrah. Planning to go up again next Sat with Anna who couldn't make it this past Sat. Thanks again everyone for being such great partners on the trail. Loved it!

I did this hike yesterday, epic, beautiful! I'm pushing back the start time to 6:30 to give us some daylight and an extra hour to sleep. Anyone wishing to carpool or caravan please email me I'm leaving from Covina at 5:00 a.m. Because of the distance bring a lot of water, I'm bringing 5 liters. There is water on the trail if you have a filter. Also, a headlamp or flashlight in case you are running slow at the end.

Ledy, this hike is going to take around ten hours, maybe a little less or a little more depending on speed and breaks.

I would love to Join. But this saturday is my sons bday party. Last week my BF and I were at Santa Anita canyon. Any other meetups happening after the 22nd?

Andrew, I'd love to carpool; I can meet you somewhere along the way; btw, this hike is around 425+ gain per mile which isn't bad, and it's 11 miles up; how fast are you thinking of going; I'm not the fastest but I always "go the distance." My longest hike has been 19 miles with about the same gain but w/o the high elevation; I have been as high as 12000 up in the sierras. Whatta ya think?

Andrew, me and Anna are coming from OC and would love to join you somewhere along the way; I'll be coming up the 57 over to the 210; can you suggest a location or off ramp?

      September 18, 2012

    • Andrew

Alicia, you can exit the 57 at Auto Center Drive just before the 210. There is a Walmart where we could meet. I'll send ya my cell number via email.

Wow! 22 miles....the most I've done is 18, but I have done San Gorgonio from Vivian Creek. This would be a great hike, but I think I better prepare for it. Hopefully by the time it comes around there is still room for one more.
