This is a meeting to learn about using KiCAD, an open source EDA software suite, to create the circuit board for a CMoy headphone amplifier. There are no prerequisites. However, to save time, each of us will need to download and have KiCAD installed on our laptop before the meeting. Because we all have our own favorite OS, mine is Debian GNU/Linux, troubleshooting installation problems on unfamiliar OS can be very time consuming.
I am still learning KiCAD so this meeting will be a group learning lab format. At the end of the meeting our goal is to generate production ready gerber file that can be sent to PCB fabrication shops. For PCB production, I use, OSH Park, a domestic pcb batching service that uses US pcb manufacturers, with a turn around time of roughly two weeks.
