For the 4th year, SHARC will participate in the ULA Intern Rocket Launch. At this fantastic event, some of the largest amateur rockets in the US as well as dozens of smaller hobby rockets are launched. SHARC members built one of the two large launch pads used to launch the largest rockets.
SHARC members have flown several payloads of their own design. Video from one of the payloads is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMJaYVvDMjg
SHARC members have also mentored several high school and elementary school teams who have built payloads to fly on the larger rockets. This year, look for the Cherry Creek High School Rocket Team's SHAPE (Simultaneous High-Altitude Parachutes Experiment) Payload flying on a rocket built by CU Boulder.
The 2013 ULA Intern Rocket Launch is scheduled for Saturday, July 27 in Pueblo. Closeup rocket viewing is scheduled for 9am-9:45am with the largest rockets launching from 10am-12pm. Smaller rocket launches will continue throughout the day.
