Sherlock Holmes' Birthday Brunch Jan 6

January 6th ----It's Sherlock Holmes' Birthday!!!!!

Come and join a celebratory birthday brunch for our guy!  Cake!  Breakfast!  Once again at Ye Olde King's Head Pub -- but this time we have a private room guaranteed!

We'll be screening Granada's Blue Carbuncle in honor of the recent holiday.  There will be a quiz on that story, this time with a small prize for the winner!

Suggest you read it online first, as the quiz will happen before the screening.  Here's where to find it online for free.

Brunch is no host, so you'll need to pay for your own food while you are there, but cake is on your host.

Join us and bring some new Sherlockians with you.   Do RSVP!   Bring your favorite pastiche and tell us about it.

See you soon!

Bonnie

I am a Ben Cumberbatch/Martin Freeman "Sherlock" fanatic. But I just watched the 2nd Robert Downey Jr Movie and really loved it a lot! And I have been going back and watching the Jeremy Brett Sherlocks on Netflix, and am reminded again what a great great actor he was - his facial expressions say more than a dozen lines.
I love comparing the various Sherlocks and also the Watsons, each different and satisfying in their own way. And I am just as happy with Elementary, a complete reinterpretation that rewrites Doyle a lot...but Johnny Lee Miller has his own wonderful vulnerable spin (he seems to be the only vulnerable Sherlock).
In any case, Holmes is such a big character that there is room for one more great one! Having lots of fun exploring all these interpretations.

I just watched the Sign of the Four. I have stream t.v. from the U.K.
I am looking forward to coming. However, if the rain is really heavy, I might not as I do not like to drive on the freeway in rain. Hopefully, it will be California rain (a few drops)!

Just saw last weeks episode of Elementary...loved the Moriarty and the Baker Street Irregulars in it.

I watched Elementary too. It is a different take on Sherlock Holmes but good nevertheless!
