SHOWREEL Short Film Night, Balham Bowls Club

An eclectic selection of independent short films - monthly, in the upper lounge of the Balham Bowls Club. It's a great venue. Feel free to bring friends, it's very informal.

Dominik and Dawid - Comedy - 6 Mins Dir. Andy Salamonczyk Dawid, an 11-year-old polish boy living in London, decides he must find the perfect lady for his father. All Consuming Love (Man in a Cat) - Comedy/Animation - 9 Mins Dir. Louis Hudson An animated comedy short about a man that lives inside a cat.
Release the Flying Monkeys - Comedy 9 mins Dir. Alex Taylor Two fanatical Eastern European girls come to the fashionable East London to prepare for Jesus' return. Creak - Horror 5 mins Dir. Luther Bhogal-Jones It's 4am and somewhere, something has opened... Schlimazeltov! - Documentary 11 mins Dir. Chris Allen Maybe some people are just born unlucky? This documentary film weaves together a diverse collection of different voices from London’s Jewish community to explore the concept of “luck” or “mazel”. Timed - Documentary 7 mins Dir. Mike Jones Allen, a professional swimmer born in East London, dreams of competing at the 2012 Olympics.An exploration into the mind of an aspiring Olympian.   The Holiday - Drama 11 Mins Dir. Ida Akesson Banter around the Burger Van is always animated - especially with Ken griping to his mates about his nagging wife and kids. But Ken's home isn't your typical family abode...   Autumn Leaves - Comedy 10 Mins Dir. Lee Barham Death comes calling when a funeral director's son takes the business into his own hands.
