Intown Walk at Olmsted Linear Parks

Walk the lovely parks beside Ponce de Leon Blvd. designed by Frederick Olmsted(www.atlantaolmstedpark.org). Meet at the corner of Clifton Rd NE and South Ponce De Leon at 3 pm for an easy walk of about 3 miles on mainly paved paths. There will be one smooth dirt path. We will walk through Dellwood and Deepene Parks then circle back to walk along as many of the other parks as the group desires. Great opportunity for a social intown stroll at a beautiful time of year. Lots of street parking on Clifton is available. When we finish those who wish will head down Ponce to Apres Diem Restaurant(931 Monroe Dr, Atlanta) for some refreshment. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a bit of water.Clifton Road is easy to find. As it crosses Ponce de Leon, one side goes to Fernbank Museum and the other side will cross S. Ponce and the corner where we will meet.

I enjoyed meeting the other hikers and learning about the Olmsted Parks.

Too bad we did not have a beautiful day like today, but it sure was fun meeting new folks! Glad you came.

I almost canceled. So glad I didn't. I had a total blast and am looking forward to the event next week. Thanks for the good company on the walk and dinner. The food was superb! =-)

Seven stalwart walkers braved the misty weather for a spring hike in town. The area was beautiful, but damp. The company was delightful@

I just changed my RSVP to no. My son and his bride will in town for Easter. I am watching the calendar for another event that I can attend.
