Find Your Flow, And Then You Grow

Find Your Flow, And Then You Grow

The author of Flow and Creativity, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, teaches some powerful tools that help us get into Flow, that state of creativity, invention, focus and productivity.  It's also a way to experience joy, peak experiences and freedom from anxiety and boredom.

How do we actually do it, though?  Rickey Larson will share some stories of how he used some of these concepts and tools as a successful comic, celebrity impersonator, and improv actor.  He will also guide us through a few easy and engaging exercises drawn from the entertainment world of improv that can help us taste Flow and gain some practical experience in increasing our ability to get into it more often.

Bobby James will continue the discussion into how we design, build, and integrate systems to help us to experience Flow within our day-to-day business activities so that we don't take on too much too soon, and if we accidentally do, we can rise to the occasion.  Come join us to experience some fun and learn how, over the long-haul, you can actually get a lot more done.

With a smile of enthusiasm,

Rickey Larson

Follow-up thought: Maybe "Going with the Flow" involves accepting just the right amount of the challenges provided, in this moment, without taking on too much. Avoiding too many of the opportunities of the moment seems to bring about boredom. "Taking things easy", finding the edge of boredom, and then embracing a little extra challenge, keeps us progressing, in the zone, and up to date (or ahead) on being contributive and maybe even fun to work with. What thoughts have you had since our meetup?

Bobby is a blast to work with. The group of fellow Successful Life Builders were very supportive and great to work with. And, I appreciated the chance to share some thoughts and explore some experiences together. As for the space , it was great, other than the Miller Campus accidentally locking us out of the much bigger room we were planning on being in to do our activities.

Great meeting, Rickey. I enjoyed the positive interaction with others. Kevin can really finish my stories for me. It's like he was actually there. Great job, everyone!

Great job Rickey. You kept it simple and easy to apply into our individual situation. I love being able to visualize and measure results. The example of the L graff allows me to do just that with any task I am tackling. Thanks to everyone for your participation. Great interaction.

It was very good and interactive. No just talk and tell. I liked Rickeys sharing how he involves less willing participants by showing the Cool and getting their permission. It is very much like starting a positive epidemic. Loved it.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
