Beekeeping Basics – What’s the Buzz?

BUSY BEES! Saturday at the Garden -  Beekeeping Basics – What’s the Buzz?
Saturday, June 8 from 1 PM to 3 PM

Join us in the Oak Glen Pavilion on Saturday, June 8 at 1 PM to learn more about the buzzing world of the bees and beekeeping with Jeremy Rose, owner of The California Bee Company, LLC which exists to promote the health and well-being of honey bees. They operate approximately 500 healthy bee hives using natural management methods, and as an ongoing effort they are breeding healthy, gentle queen bees that have mite-resistant behaviors. The California Bee Company also strives to encourage small-scale beekeeping, and in 2010 published Beekeeping in Coastal California, a concise book that describes beekeeping methods as well as the flowers used by honey bees in this unique area of the world.

Presentation is $5 for SLO botanical Garden members/$10 non-members. Followed at 2 PM by a free docent-led tour of the Garden. For more information contact our Education Coordinator at [masked] or[masked]x 304.

A $3 fee is charged for parking by San Luis Obispo County Parks in El Chorro Regional Park April through September on weekends and holidays.

Good speaker who knew his subject and presented it well. $10 pp is a little expensive.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
