May - MAS Social Shoot at the goatfarm

MAS Admins and various other photographers plan to do fun casual shoots with various models on Wednesdays.  We have limited public spots open for photographers wanting to join us.  These shoots will alternate between Photoplex and the Atlanta Goat farm, and models will be supplied by us or if you want you!

Your fee's goes to studio lights, and the facilities.  These shoots are completely tfp for the model.

Come hang out with us and feel free to just socialize and ask questions.

For these small TFP shoots we really kick our lighting into high gear.  We will use 12~15 studio lights for these events, 2~3 per setup.  Our goal is so that all attending photographers will get STUNNING portfolio level work, and all models will be able to leave with work that studios charge lots of money for.

We supply : The models, the location, the lighting, and more.

Be aware that the models for these events can be completely new to modeling, and thus this is your chance to find some of Atlanta's newest modeling talents.  Get in and work with them before everyone else does.

You Bring :
Your camera, you, memory cards, lenses, and drinks

Lens recommendation : Lenses ranging from 18mm to 300mm are great for these events. We suggest favoring 24mm to 150mm on a full frame (18mm-100mm on a crop).

I'm so paranoid about uploading shots on a meet-up page; I've had shots stolen on a meet-up site in the past...So, some of my shots are here: http://maryannehinklephotography.com/p200693981

So for any models interested, I have many more images from this shoot. If you PM me your email address I will send you the "unedited" images through a dropbox link. You can pick the ones you like and I will run them through Photoshop and reload them. You can also check out my FB page for photography: Shutter the Thought. I had a great time the other night… thank you Trent Chau for setting it all up and all those who donated their time and talents

    Hey all ...

I do not know the area but it looks really neat over there and even though a lot of you work, it sounds like a neat idea to meet up ahead of time and share a meal. I know a few of you did that last night.
That would be awesome if a few of you that eat around there before hand post where you are going and that way others have the option of joining in ~!~

I just bought a niko d3200 3 days ago and never used anything outside a phone in the past, are super beginners welcome to this event?

It was nice meeting you last night Patrick. Sorry about messing up your white balance for the constant light photos at first there! ;-)

No, its the reverse, I would of just been stuck on auto-mode and not learned anything if it wasn't for you andro, steve and some others. I'm also shocked you were patience enough to walk me through it so thoroughly. We all need mentors, I was lucky to find great people within 10 minutes of my first time pointing my camera. Also double thanks to the event organizer Trent.

What an awesome, eclectic photographic event which I once again thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you so much Trent! The passion was felt both from the models and photographers for their craft and I betcha everyone is loving the shots they took last night...I know I am...

By the way, should any of you need to get in touch with Brittany, Melissa or Lauren, please let me know and I can put you in contact with all of them.

Last second request - If anyone has a few spare lightstands, can you bring them. I forgot some of our stands are out and we have a limited amount right now.

Light stands: I've got one large stand, and a travel sized stand (manfrotto 5001b) I will bring. Then I've also got two background holder stands if you got the fittings to use that as a light stand I can bring also if you want.

are you going to provide food at this 8 day event? I'm not sure 20 bucks is going to cover it. Should we bring our PJ's?
