I've always been interested in photography. Back in high school (20 year ago now!) I took photography classes and learned my way around the B&W darkroom. I then gave up photography for a while until I got my first DSLR about 4 years ago. I've been getting more and more serious about it since then, just recently upgrading to a D7000 and starting to play around more with off-camera flash. Other than photography, I'm pretty serious about fitness, knitting, board games, and exploring the bay area. Soon I'll be launching a new blog/site that explores the connections between craft and other elements in life.
I really just enjoy the experience of exchanging thoughts and ideas with other creators, this sounds like a good group to add to my other photography meetups.
I would guess somewhere between the novice and intermediate level. I feel like I look at the world as a photographer, I think about the light and composition when I'm in a room, walking down the street, etc. I feel like I have a pretty good grip on my post processing (I've been solidly using Lightroom for a few years).
Absolutely -- I think being a part of any craft community means giving as much as you take. We learn so much even through the giving process.
Making photos, lifting weights, knitting stitches. Busy crafting a life to my own exact specifications. Oh, I'm 6'5.
One of my favorite Meetup groups! Always great events organized by a stupendous host and filled with terrific members.
