August: Osage County at Bethesda Row - Meet at 3:45pm

August: Osage County tells the dark, hilarious and deeply touching story of the strong-willed women of the Weston family, whose lives have diverged until a family crisis brings them back to the Midwest house they grew up in, and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them. The Pulitzer Prize-winning play of the same name by Tracy Letts (Killer Joe, Bug) made its Broadway debut in December 2007 after premiering at Chicago's legendary Steppenwolf Theatre earlier that year. It continued with a successful international run and was the winner of five Tony Awards in 2008, including Best Play. The film version of August: Osage County is directed by John Wells (The Company Men) and features an all-star cast, including Best Actress nominee Meryl Streep, Best Supporting Actress nominee Julia Roberts, Ewan McGregor, Chris Cooper, Abigail Breslin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Juliette Lewis, Margo Martindale, Dermot Mulroney, Julianne Nicholson, Sam Shepard and Misty Upham.

    hi Brian,
Is there a way you could let us know a bit ahead of time what movie you will be choosing so we don't go see it . I am a big movie goer so thus far I already had seen all the selections that you posted a few days prior to the event . It would be great to see them with the group and perhaps a bit of a list with what you are considering would be practical so we don't see them ahead of time .thanks for all your work !

Hi Catherine. Typically we try to post movies by Thursday or Friday, as we get the schedules for the new weekend movies on Wednesday. The organizers discuss choices via email, but the final decision is left up to that week's host. We're always willing to consider suggestions forwarded to us...and we're also looking to expand our circle of organizers. Typically we consider movies that are in the opening or second weekend of their run, and we skew towards indie films and documentaries over blockbusters. Feel free to contact me or any of the organizers if you want a pulse of what's being discussed. Thanks!

I also suggest mentioning upcoming films you'd like to see before they're in the theaters. Then, you know whether to wait to see it with the group.

I'll be there. I saw the play at the Kennedy Center, starring Estelle Parsons. It was excellent. I can't wait to see Meryl Streep in it.

Bethesda Row now uses assigned seating. My seat is N8, in case you want to pre-purchase your ticket.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
