Dear Singers, Actors, Dancers, Storytellers, Poets, Instrumentalists!!

Several talented members have already auditioned and have been chosen to perform on our September concert. I look forward to meeting more of you at our next meetup, Wednesday, July 31. If you cannot attend the meetup, please send me an email to schedule a private appointment. Be sure to leave your phone number!

Please bring your favortie songs, monologues, poems, etc., to be considered for our concert.

To clarify: Our concert is in remembrance of September 11, but will take place on Sept. 12. Save the date.

Performance material should be inspirational, joyful and humorous, and may or may not be related to September 11 or other such event. Our goal is to inspire and uplift our audience on a day which continues to affect many of us on a very deep level. Songs in any language and category, classical, pop, etc., are acceptable.

SINGERS & ACTORS, etc.: PLEASE bring 2 copies of each song you will sing at the meetup (the entire sheet music, i.e., vocal line and full piano accompaniment- not just the chords, please!), poems, stories, etc.

INSTRUMENTALISTS: You may play one or two solos of any genre. Those with experience, please volunteer to accompany singers and other performers at meetups and at the concert.

Performers with some experience are being sought for this special event. Those with minimum performing experience may be considered for group numbers.

If you'd like to perform:

Please send me an email with the names of songs (1-2), poems, instrumental pieces, etc., you are considering for the program. Be sure to include your phone number, RSVP for this meetup, or ask to schedule a private interview. Attendance at this and/or other meetups (minimum of 3) and/or a private interview is required of all members who either have or have not attended past meetups.

At this and other meetups, you will receive advice on repertoire choices, and coaching on your material. You will also meet fellow members and have a very enjoyable evening!

Several rehearsals/meetups will be scheduled between July and September. Watch for and RSVP for meetups!

This event is free and open to the public. A reception will follow to which we will all contribute some food or drink.

Updates will be given periodically throughout the summer. We hope you will want to perform on and/or attend the concert and encourage you to invite your friends. Your RSVP is appreciated.

Meetup Fee: $15 in cash at the door (exact amount, please!)

RSVP BY 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30. If you can't attend, please change your RSVP. A minimum of 3 attendees is required to hold this meetup.

I'm really looking forward to singing in this year's concert and working with the other performers. My impression from our rehearsal is that it promises to be a wonderful program of varied repertoire. The rehearsals leading up to the concert not only give one a chance to work on one's performance, but I find that Anna gives excellent feedback. It's a very positive, supportive workshop environment.

I am very excited about singing in this concert on September 12. Anna Bartos provides a wonderful opportunity for people to perform a broad range of repertoire in different genres and a chance to showcase new material. Last year's concert was a rich blend of classical and popular music, interspersed with readings and remembrances. This year's concert is shaping up really well and will be as diverse, but different. Anna is still looking for performers.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
