SINGERS & ACTORS of all levels: Bring in songs and monologues you'd like to work on for your own pleasure or for auditions and/or performances in the New Year. You will receive vocal and dramatic tips and coaching on your material. Music may be of any genre from the classics to rock.
This is a wonderful opportunity to meet and socialize with fellow members, and to gain skill and confidence as a performer. Keep in mind some STSANY upcoming performing opportunities for a live audience including:
International Cabaret Night: Vocal and instrumental repertoire (all musical genres) and acting pieces in a cabaret setting;
Classical Night: Songs, arias, scenes from operas and operettas, instrumental selections, etc., in a more formal setting;
Volunteer Performances including holiday caroling at shelters, hospitals, schools;
Purely social events: Parties, attending concerts and other events together;
Meetup Fee: $10.00 at the door (exact amount in cash). RSVP on this site by Jan. 7 at 11:45 p.m.
Annual Dues: $5.00 (a one-time fee payable in person when you attend a meetup event)
Please be on time for meetups by arriving at least 10 minutes before they begin. The elevators are busy at that time.
EXCITING NEWS: STSANY's 2013Emerging Artist Series* for singers, actors and instrumentalists with some training and performing experience. An excellent opportunity for young semi-professionals, professionals and students to perform for a live audience in preparation for performances, auditions, competitions, school recitals, college juries, etc. We will provide a free space to perform, a flyer, a program (optional), publicity, program consultation and a reception (optional) for a small fee.
Those qualified and interested should contact me by sending your resume or bio, email address and phone number and a proposal for a program. You will be contacted once we've reviewed your information. Several events are being planned for the Spring and Summer of 2013 on a first come, first served basis. Membership in STSANY and attendance at several meetups are required for consideration. Please note: Seasoned artists may also contact me with performance suggestions.
Since we are a cooperative meetup group, volunteering as an assistant organizer will be much appreciated. Let us know your talents which may be helpful in keeping this group running for years to come: Graphic arts, fundraising, public relations, writing skills for our Newsletter, sponsorship, others you may suggest.
See you on the 8th!
Happy New Year to one and all!
Anna Bartos, Organizer and Artistic Director of STSANY
A Cooperative Arts Collective for Singers, Actors and Instrumentalists
