Greetings and Welcome!
Have you always wanted to sing or act, but never did? Did other things get in your way, like a day job? Or, did you sing/act a long time ago and want to get back into it? Well, here's your chance to make your life-long dream come true!

SOMETHING TO SING ABOUT! gives you a golden opportunity to try out new material or perfect songs and monologues you have already performed or presented at auditions for a live, friendly audience at performance venues in Manhattan. Friends, family, agents and all others are always welcome to attend showcases.

iF SINGING, ACTING, DANCING OR PLAYING AN INSTRUMENT are your passions, PLEASE JOIN OUR MEETUP, and post some information about yourself on your profile page, including any vocal, acting and/or instrumental training and performing experience you have had, your aspirations for the future, your choice of repertoire, etc. All types of music and  comic or dramatic pieces are acceptable.

ACCOMPANISTS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN STSANY! WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF PIANISTS AND GUITARISTS for performances and meetups.

STSANY MEEETS approximately two-four times a month at a midtown Manhattan location. It would be very if you would tell us which days are best for you! Once you join, you will be notified when the next meetup will take place, That information will also be posted on our message board.

Performers with one-two person cabaret acts or original musical dramas or spoofs are encouraged to join this meet-up. Vocal coaching and performance workshops will provide helpful techniques to enhance your showcase performance. Approximately 2-4 showcases are presented throughout the year.

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES: Showcases, Cabaret Nights, Classical Nights, Musical Plays, Informal Musicales, Outreach Performances for Children and Adults at Schools, Homeless Shelters, Soup Kitchens, Senior Residences, Theatres, etc.

Soprano/Actress/Voice Teacher/Coach/College Lecturer/Composer-Arranger/Published Author

Anna Bartos is the Founder and Director of Flor y Canto Chamber Music Ensemble (formerly The Ensemble ALMA) and The Enchanted Forest Opera. Creator, director and producer of showcases in New York City since 1998, Ms. Bartos has sung major roles in opera, as soloist with orchestras, and on the concert stage at international festivals and college conferences. Her recordings include Cantares for Soprano and Guitar, Mostly Spanish and You Must Remember This Two. Known for her expertise in Spanish and Latin American song repertoire, she has won several competitions and grants, as well as The New York Foundation for the Arts Non-Profit Sponsorship for her original one-woman musical drama, La maja olvidada. She served on the vocal faculty of the Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions at the New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development (studio voice) for 11 years, and a group class, Something to Sing About at the NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies for 8 years.
