Introduction

Greetings! I am a professional classical singer, voice teacher and coach (privately and at NYU, etc.), actor, director-producer, composer and arranger. I love to help pros and non-pros develop their talents and perform in public spaces.

What attracts you most about this Something to Sing About Meetup?

Supportive vocal coaching & group workshops offered to improve skills-confidence needed to perform in showcases and other venues including shelters (new project), nursing homes, schools and theatres. Some training/experience preferred. Good exposure.

What Anna Bartos is saying about this Meetup Group

Our meetup group has proven a wonderful venue for singers and actors to learn skills. gain self-confidence, realize their performance dreams, and strut their talented stuff. May it continue for a long time to come! Here are some reviews from performers and audience members of our last concert on September 11 which we hosted for the September Concert Foundation: It was a privilege to work with Anna Bartos on this 9/11 memorial concert. All of the performers were of high caliber and the audience rewarded our efforts with heartfelt applause. The program, with its mixture of styles and its emphasis on Americana, was just perfect for the anniversary date._____Moshe Knoll, Classical pianist I had a great time yesterday. It was a meaningful and good organized concert. Thank you so much for inviting us again.___Rosa Hyewon Lee, Classical guitarist who played with flutist Soo-Kyung Park

  • Anna,
Here's what I get for not reading the fine print -- I have absolutely no sheet music/song to bring. Would you have something on hand that might be suit a beginner like myself? Heck, I'll sing Happy Birthday, if necessary. Thank you--
    Michele

  • Hi Anna,

Thanks for the message about the 1/21 workshop! I wasn't sure I could make it until now so I just RSVP-ed. I saw that there's a maximum of 8 singers at this workshop so I'm not sure if I can still attend? I also remember seeing somewhere that first timers can bring a guest to observe without a fee - my boyfriend is interested in joining and would like to come. Is that ok?

    Thanks!

  • My friend Suzannah who will be joining me *is* a singer and plans to participate in the workshop. I'll ask her if she wants to join the meetup group. Thanks.

  • Hi Anna,
sorry for the confusion, the badge -- it's actually the one under the Home button on the site screen, can just be purchased from Nestor in person. As I'm going to wear the badge, you can't miss me and our group after the concert.
    See you there tonight,
    Akio

  • And yes I do read music even though my voice is still getting back into shape after years of not singing very much (other than belting my brains out at karaoke nights). BTW - I studied at your program at NYU back in the day when it was SEHNAP instead of Steinhart. I started there as a vocal performance major but transferred to Tisch my sophomore year. If I recall correctly, I think a lot of friends had you as their voice teacher. I studied with Pina Mozzani.
