Dear STSANY members and friends,
My deep thanks to all of you who performed on our Concert in Remembrance of September 11! It was a pleasure working with you. You were simply fantastic and the audience loved you! It was also a pleasure to meet those who attended, and to see and hear how much you enjoyed the program. Thanks for coming!
I would love to know what you enjoyed, specifically, about the concert. In fact, I NEED YOUR HELP: When you have a moment, would you please write a short "review" of your experience, that day? Please send it to me in an email and post it in "group reviews." Since we are beginning to apply for non-profit grants to fund future events, your review will be very, very helpful in demonstrating the relevance of our group and why we deserve funding. Here are some points you should include:

1)  How well the concert was organized;

2)  The venue: Appearance, adequate capacity for audience, etc.;

3)  Your thoughts about the program selections, audience reaction, generally, and comments made to you, and anything else you can think of which is relevant

to the entire experience;

4)  What the concert meant to you, personally. Please include any thoughts that came to mind during the concert and before you arrived.

5) The reception following.

Below are some "reviews" I have received from members and friends.

Please read "pages" on our website for details about STSANY, a Non-Profit Creative Arts Collective-Cooperative for Singers, Actors, Instrumentalists, Dancers, etc., which offers many opportunities to members including workshops, private lessons in singing and acting, master classes, informal musicales, showcases, special musical/theatrical events. Outreach performances are one of our main goals. Look at our photos, as well!

PLEASE NOTE: A recording of the concert will be available at a future date (to purchase), and will be posted on YouTube. I'll be sure to let you know when it is completed.

PLEASE NOTE: Come to our Singing/Acting workshop on Sept. 27 (to be posted soon). Bring songs and monologues to work on, as usual. We will also begin reading through holiday songs which we sing during the holidays, as we did last year. Come and be a volunteering member of the JOYFUL NOISE CAROLERS in bringing joy to folks in difficult circumstances throughout the City. I need help searching for and arranging venues, so please volunteer for that, as well!

PLEASE NOTE: Other events are in the works, so come on out to meetups and get started on what you like to do most: Sing, act, improve your skills, volunteer.

See you soon!

Happy Fall!

September 11 Concert Reviews:

Dear Anna,

Thank you, thank you, thank you for transforming what could have been an extremely melancholy evening into a joyful and uplifting experience!!

I hope you could sense the warmth and gratitude that we all felt toward you and your wonderful performers last night.

Your musical offerings were not only touching and heartfelt, but hopeful and inspiring as well!!

I'm so very glad that I was there to be a part of it, even if only as a member of a most appreciative audience.

Happy Trails to you, Anna, till we meet again!

Cheers and Good Wishes,

Cheryl (Asher) - Audience member

“Thank you for so many magnificent musical/artistic performances!”

____Jean Marie and Stanley De Veaux - Audience members who attended this and last year's 9/11 concerts

Dear Anna: Thank you so much for inviting me to take part in these two 9/11 memorial concerts.

It is a moral obligation for all of us to continue to organize art events in memory of the victims of this national tragedy.

A flourishing arts scene is the best response to those who presume it is their mission to extinguish Western Civilization. ___Moshe Knoll, Pianist - Guest Artist

The concert was wonderful. Thanks for offering it. Great job to all those involved.____Louis Trapani, STSANY member

It was a joy to participate, Anna.

Love always,

September 11 Concert

This past Tuesday I was blessed to be able to perform in a concert in remembrance of September 11, organized by Anna Bartos. Anna is a gifted coach with a broad understanding of various musical genres in many languages. She is knowledgeable, supportive, and inspiring to work with. She did an excellent job of bringing together a group of people performing different types of vocal and instrumental music, and created a program that had appeal for a broad audience.

Speaking for myself personally, as someone who began serious study of classical singing when I was older, it is very difficult to break into many of the highly competitive local groups using classical singers. This concert had the intimacy of something you might find outside of New York, while at the same time being very much of New York.
