[NYClassical] FYI: Free Van Cliburn Competition Screening Auditions in NYC (Feb 11-16, 2013)

Dear Members and Friends, This sounds like a fantastic event to attend. Shall we schedule a meetup and go together? Let me know, and I'll post one on our site. I definitely want to attend at least one day of the auditions. You can also suggest a meetup, yourself, for a certain day between Feb. 11-16. Enjoy! I just received this notice from the NY Classical Music Meetup, of which I am a member. Anna
To all NY Classical Music Meetup members,

This is NOT an official event for our group but may be of interest to many of you.

In preparation for the 14th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, screening auditions will be held February 11-16, 2013 at Rockefeller University's Caspary Auditorium (1230 York Avenue, New York, NY 10065).

There will be 1-2 sessions each day, presenting 3-4 pianists per session.  Each pianist will perform a 40 minute program that will be freely chosen by the artist.

All events are free and open to the public and will include 10 minute breaks between performances for people to come and go as they please.  For exact times, go to:

The New York auditions will be the penultimate stop on a diligent screening process that will also include auditions in Hong Kong, Hanover, Milano, Moscow, and Fort Worth.  The 30 pianists chosen to compete in the finals (May 24-June 9 at Bass Hall) will be announced March 5.
