Mt. Tamalpais, Rock Springs to West Point Inn Loop, Moderate 7+ miles

Join us for a hike through the conifer forests of Mt. Tam's north side before crossing the spine of the mountain to the sunny and arid south side with it's spectacular views of San Francisco and the bay.

Meetup Time: 10:00 AM (hike starts promptly at 10:15)

Distance: ~7.3 miles

Elevation Gain: ~1,000 feet

Difficulty: Moderate+

Duration: We should be back ~3:30 PM, depending on our pace.

Meetup Location: Meet in the parking lot located at the intersection of Pantoll Road and Ridgecrest Blvd.

Petaluma Carpool: Meet in the parking lot behind Burger King near Kmart, 205 North McDowell Blvd, Petaluma (park behind Burger King at the yellow poles) at 8:20 AM, leaving promptly at 8:30.

Other Carpool: If you'd like to carpool from outside Petaluma, please add a comment to your RSVP mentioning where you would like to meet and if you can drive.

Food: Bring your lunch and something to share. We will stop for lunch and refreshments at West Point Inn overlooking San Francisco and the bay. There is no food or beverage service available at the inn.

Water: Bring a few bottles.

Shoes: Light Hiking Boots or Trail Shoes. The trail can be muddy in places if we are ever blessed with rain!

Clothing: Dress in layers, we will be moving through cool shaded forests along creeks and through manzanita scrub in the warm sun.

Dogs: Sorry, dogs are not allowed.

Children: SCO is an Adult Hiking Group. Please leave the kiddies at home.

    Just to clarify, we are stopping at the West Point Inn, not the Mountain Home Inn. There is no food or beverage service at West Point Inn so bring watch you want for lunch!!
