Gary, I'm driving in from Napa. Is there parking (free or paid?) available at the Bear Valley Visitor Center?

    August 29

    • John H.

Julia- Figure about 3.5 hours to hike plus stop time plus travel. That's approximately a 2.5 mph speed which is probably conservative. Click on the map link for travel time. Might take longer given the holiday weekend.- 45 minute of so drive.

Jerry and I will meet up with you all at the Lakeville Park & Ride. Haven't heard from anyone else in the Santa Rosa/Rohnert Park area as of this afternoon.

      August 28

    • John M.

I'm coming from santa rosa and I need a ride, I assume that by the petaluma park and ride, everyone is referring to the one at the fwy @116. I don't have the right car to fit people so I need a ride too.

Can I suggest carpool sites? I usually go over toPoint Reyes on the Petaluma-Point Reyes Road (D Street in Petaluma). So one site in Petaluma. There is the Park & Ride off the 101. Perhaps another site in Rohnert Park for folks from Santa Rosa area- Park & Ride off the 101 at the Sebastopol Gravenstein exit behind the 76 Station. I'm willing to drive or ride. Any takers? Alternatives?

Not sure of my schedule yet; this is a beautiful hike and I hope I can join everyone.

NOTE: Although posted as 7 miles, this is an 8-mile hike; 4 miles each way.
