SOS, Secular Organizations for Sobriety, also known as "Save OurSelves", provide a secular alternative to religiously based 12-step programs to counter addiction. While the name may imply an interest only in alcohol abuse the group deals with any addiction - alcohol, drug, eating, etc. The group will address these addictions without involving religious beliefs, but you do not need to be an atheist, agnostic or other free thinker to participate.

"Hi, I'm Josh. I've been looking for an SOS group in KC for a while. My brother has had a lot success with you guys on Tulsa. I'm tired of waiting for a meeting to come to me...so, I'm going to try seeking one out. Let me know of the next meetup."

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
