I've stepped up as the new organizer in March 2016, so we will all as a group determine what works best for us "Growers". This group will allow like minded gardeners to connect with others that have an interest in growing their food, and swapping tips and extra harvest. After 2 introductory meetings (March /April 2016) it appears most do not have surplus produce but are interested in getting the freshest tastiest produce available. We all know this is only possible through vine/tree ripened. Future meetings will include U-Pick outings at members homes with surplus produce. Whether it's that loaded fruit tree or out of control zucchinni, contact the organizer and a meetup will be posted.
PHE growers get together to support each other in our community and to encourage more people to grow food, raise chickens, preserve, and of course cook. We are like-minded people in the area that meet, share experiences, and learn from each others strengths and weaknesses. We exchange knowledge, fruits, veggies, seeds, cuttings, gear, labor for land use, and buy in bulk. We gather to swap, and potluck, and to learn more about interest related subjects from experts. We may want to start community gardens in the Pasadena and surrounding areas. You do not have to have a garden to be part of this group, just an interest in growing food, purchasing homegrown food or being a part of the lacoal gardening community
