Learnshop: Pet Photography

This month's Learnshop addresses photographing pets.

Our speaker is Nina Parker of Marietta, GA.

Pets are such an important part of our lives, often giving unconditional love and support in ways we cannot get anywhere else.

Shortly after Nina began accepting portrait work she was asked to photograph a friend’s elderly dog, which was not expected to live much longer.  The pictures were so precious to that client; Nina saw a need and realized that this was an opportunity for her to better serve the people with whom she worked.

In addition to her professional work Nina enjoys using her skills to give back.  In support of pets and the people who love them she has donated her time and services to various charitable organizations, including Homeless Pets Foundation, Bark for Art, Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue, and Spay and Neuter Society of the South.

Nina is also a participating photographer with the Inspiration Through Art, an organization dedicated to capturing memories for families with children suffering from a serious illness or life altering disability.

Thanks to Nina for a great presentation! She shared lots of good information and tips, but my favorite was the story and photo of the weimaraners who would allow no chipmunks on the premises!

I so wanted to come, but I'm slap out of spoons. . . I was looking forward to learning how to take better portraits of my sweet baby dog and parrot (who's not so sweet, but that's another story for another day). Y'all have fun!
