Gibbs Gardens, Ball Ground Ga.

With all of the rain we have had and now milder temperatures, it's a great time to spend a few hours shooting at Gibbs Gardens. In case you have not been there, Gibbs is a vast landscaped garden of more than 100 acres of tailored grounds. The Japanese Garden with it's ponds and stream will be terrific. There are still lots of annuals and perennials showing and the summer wildflowers are in good shape. There is a very nice deli and dinning terrace  and trams to help you get around. Sunday hours are 9 to 5 with admission of $20 ($18 for us over 65). With our group certain to be over 20 people, everyone gets the $18 fee by identifying ourselves as SPS members. Wear good walking shoes and travel light. Be sure to have your macro and a mid range telephoto. Complete info and directions are at gibbsgardens.com.

Linda and I will see you at the entrance at 9.

As always, you are welcome to call my cell with questions at[masked]-4734.

David Akoubian shoots for Gibbs. He said "mid-Oct". I would think weekend of Oct 19th-20th would be ideal.

The club should return when the autumn colors peak.

I am always inspired, motivated , challenged ,& educated by other photographers, regardless of their skill level because everybody has their own "eye" and style.

It was good to see a lot of people I haven't seen in a while. And as usual, I learned a few things that will help with my photography.

If we have people who're attending who would like a little more one on one instruction, I'll be glad to "mentor" up to 3 people. I'll plan to be there, waiting at the gate for opening. Send me a message if you're interested.

Hi, Jack! I want to add Jon & Jane King to the list for the Gibbs Gardens outing. Jon's a member but he and Jane are out of the country at the moment and have limited email access.
    Thanks!

I'm guessing it's a 9AM thing, not 9PM, so my grandson's travel baseball game is going to take precedence... but the thought of a special dusk/sundown shoot at Gibbs in the fall would be great if we might arrange it. October maybe?
