Imaging USA Expo

Imaging USA is the largest annual convention and expo organized by pro photographers, for pro photographers and brings the best in networking, inspiration and education.

By special arrangement with PPA (Professional Photographers of America), up to 265 SPS members can sign up for FREE Expo passes! These passes are for the 3-day Expo (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday) not for the main convention itself. Of course, if you'd like to attend the entire convention then go for it - it looks like an amazing educational opportunity and it's right here in Atlanta!!

The Expo schedule is as follows:

Sunday, January 20 11:30am – 5:00pm

Monday, January 21 11:30am – 5:00pm

Tuesday, January 22 11:30am – 3:30pm

More details on the Expo can be found here: http://imagingusa.org/imaging-expo/

To register go to www.imagingusa.org/registration and use Promo Code: TSC2013  RSVP here after you've registered so we have an idea of how many people are going.

Hey Darren, I checked with registration today and they said it cost $40 to attend the closing party at the Aquarium.. if you have EXPO only.

For anybody who's thinking of going tomorrow, the Imaging USA closing party is at the Aquarium, 8-11pm, and if you have an EXPO only registration you can stop at the registration desk and get a registration for the party as well.

For those looking for good and cheap paper (8.5"x11"), ITS (booth 659) has the Hahnemuhle Museum Etching 350gsm 50 sheet for 30 dollars... I offered 25.00 dollars per box and they accepted...

I went on Sunday with Playoff game and all. Use Marta and had no problem. I really enjoyed the Expo. Bought a few things I needed and found great information.
    Thanks for the opportunity!

Traffic is still very light. I grabbed a spot at the aquarium (hey, I'm a pass-holder), and things are quiet at the GWCC. I've got time to kill before the expo opens, if anyone is around.

As long as they have registered and have a pass for the Expo they are welcome to attend :)

Ugh, didn't think about the Falcons playoff game. The floor passes are good any day of the convention, so for those who can work it out, it may be better to go on Monday (a state and federal holiday - MLK Day) or Tuesday.

I think I'll take a page out of Carl's book for Sunday - get down early, maybe park over by Underground (near Woodruff Park) and do some shooting in that area before taking the 10/15min walk to the convention center.

      January 15, 2013

    • Jeff M.

Sounds like a great plan, Carl. I may do something similar, but will definitely be at the Expo on Monday as well.

For those who are going to the Expo Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons are playing at the "Dome" @ 2pm. It will be an photographers dream (if you like big crowds) but Parking will be a nightmare!

I just registered too! Thanks for the opportunity to attend the
EXPO. Will I receive a pass via USPS mail at this late date? Also, will members attent as a group, or are we on our own?

    January 14, 2013

    • Ken R.

No, you'll need to pickup your pass in person - details on their website. Given the large number of people going it won't really be practical to move as a group - just get there when you'd like and enjoy the show!

Being totally new in the field, need your ideas..

Anyone has opinions on the Pre-convention courses:
-Power of Composites: Turn the Extraordinary into Extraordinary -Lightroom 4: Miracle Optimizing, Enhancing, Retouching.

Already registered for the expo as well.

    January 11, 2013

    • Greg C.

totally new? stick to the basics LR4 first composition first etc. Composites are fun but unless you are techincal its more complicated.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
