NEXT SQAUG EVENT: QA Discussion Panel - You got questions? We got QA Engineers!

Sometimes you just want to get together and TALK!! Sometimes you have questions that you just would like SOMEONE to answer. Sometimes, you get great ideas by just listening to others talk about things that have been a thorn for you!  AND Sometimes you just want to tell someone else about how cool it was to solve a problem, or finish a large scale project. We know all this, mostly because we're in QA too, and have experienced it all as well.

SO - Let's do exactly that! We bribed several very knowledgeable folks with pizza -  and asked them to sit up front and let us ask questions, like "what's your favorite method for starting up brand new automation?" and "How do you handle repeatability/reusability in terms of data management in testing?" and "Hey, I've got a stubborn DEV who won't talk with me, what do I do?" (Well the answer to that one IS pizza, maybe even ribs. But that's just our personal opinions.)

Come join us for Pizza and some great QA discussions with a panel of engineers who have "been there- done that"... we have some ideas about what to talk about - but bring your own questions!!  Everyone can participate, we can ask all sorts of questions on any variety of topics, so don't be shy about asking! We look forward to seeing you there!!

Awesome group with some great questions. Would love to see QA Managers bringing more of their mid-level engineers to expose them to the bigger picture in this field.

I won't get a paper put together by then (a bit overwhelmed at the moment) but if there was a panel discussion already being setup I would commit to being on it (or a stand-by in case someone cancels last min).

Great panel, very informative, especiall about what tools employers are looking for now, and the pros/cons of automation. Also great was Michael Cowan pointing out the importance of QA -- sometimes the last line of defense in making sure a launch goes well. (And btw, if you don't speak up, the blame game can come back and getcha.) Super job, panelists!

The meetup was great! I appreciated the questions regarding how to be successful in establishing a QA career and the panel's perspective on what tools to learn when transitioning from manual testing to automated technologies.

I would love to see the three panelist present at the PNSQC conference this year. The call for paper submissions ends April 21! Let's hear it for some PNSQC presentations from the panel, maybe they could do a panel style presentation with a Q&A type session!! For more information about PNSQC, go to http://www.pnsqc.org and sign up!

I have a great client in Beaverton in need of an Automation tester who comes from a Java development background. It's a 6+ mo. contract that will go much longer and has the ability to convert to employment down the road. Please email me if interested: [masked]
