Super informative. Really enjoyed Brett's talk. I agree that compliance and liability issues may elevate the importance of QA certification in the future.

It is always interesting to see the outcome of the certification question in industries where there is no real standardization for the test.

A very good and open discussion on the pro and con of certification. Also good to see everyone who was there.

Seems to me employers like certifications. If it means the difference in employment and another thanks-but-no-thanks letter, I say go for it.

I personally wouldn't want to work for someone like that, because it means they don't understand software testing

Addendum...they don't understand it, but think they know enough to require a silly certification.

Looking for those of you with strong opinions FOR and AGAINST the idea of certifications - and if you aren't sure, this is your chance to hear the debate first hand and decide for yourself if there is value in them.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
