How long have you been riding motorcycles? (years, estimated cumulative miles to date)

I started riding in 1983 with a Suzuki 250. I graduated to a Honda 650 Silverwing then sold it in 1993. I got my current bike in 2008. So...10 years at first then 7 more years since I got my current bike.

What kind of bike do you ride? (make, model, cc)

2007 Royal Star Venture

Please describe your group riding experience. (# group rides/years riding with groups/group riding roles you have filled)

I started riding with groups back in 1983 while I was last stationed in San Diego, CA. I loved it so much that I became a Navy Morotcycle Safety Riders Course Instructor for 3 years and I expanded the time to include some group formation riding with the San Diego Touring Society. While I ride regularly throughout the year, I prefer group riding and I ride regularly (1 to 3 times a month) with STAR 474 since 2009.

I'm a charter member of STAR 474 and the Chapter Tail Gunner. I served 4 years as the President (11 - 14). I enjoy the solitude of riding in a group while listening my music. (the only time I can sing publicly without people keeling over.;-)

What Wayne V is saying about this Meetup Group

I've been with STAR 474 since it's formation in 2009 and I think Dan summarizes our group very well. We are a member-oriented riding group. We are always looking for additional opportunities for rides offered to our members. While we have planned a ride schedule for this riding season we have only confirm three months in advance for official chapter rides. This leaves us open to learning of new opportunities and swap them for future official rides or as unplanned rides. We are a respectful and family friendly group. We respect the road conditions above driving laws. We aim to enjoy our rides and each others company. Finally, we are willing to accept experienced riders as well as novices. Novice riders are positioned with the tail and we go over the rules for group riding that we follow. We're a small and friendly group from all walks, professions, and age groups.
