I'm a retired, widowed electronics engineer with a wide range of interest and experience. I've been unable to find suitable company via dating sites, and I feel that others might share this interest. At least we can all have some fun!
I worked on various programs for NASA, Bureau of Standards (NIST) and various companies before starting my own business in motor controls. My most recent patent is for a purely mechanical device. I'm interested in how things and the world work, and like to discuss these with others. Math and chess puzzles and problems are also fun. The Tuesday NY Times "Science Times" can always provide topics to start with.
I've had a satisfying and varied life for over ten years since my wife died. (During her bout with cancer I learned a lot about medicine and medical science) While life has been good to me, it would be better with a partner.
I live in Bergen County, NJ, but am basically a NYC guy. I get to NYC often, and go to Phila. for the flower show and other events. Also foreign travel for eclipses, etc.
Heard about Meetups from other meetup groups, but none seemed to cover the general science/math/technology aspects for senior singles.
A good group of interesting people. More should attend.
I hope you will arrange soome meetings in NJ so they are quicker to get to. Any circumstance where smart conversation can occur is great. I go to a lot of symposia/presentations but often wish for more chance to talk about the topic, rather than just listen.
Will you have any meetings in Manhattan?
