Watch "Powering the Planet": followed by a Panel Discussion

This event will be in Buder Commons at Maryville.

Panelists:
Dr. Richard Alley, Climate Scientist and host of "ETOM" (joining via Skype)
Dr. David Crossley, Professor of Geophysics, SLU
Mike Roberts, KSDK Meteorologist

Brazil has sugar cane. Denmark has wind. Morocco has sunshine. China has plans. And America has politics and indecision… But it doesn't have to be that way.

POWERING THE PLANET is an eye-opening look at some of the world’s most important case studies in smart energy decisions, and a provocative assessment of what it takes to build a sustainable energy infrastructure — a process that spans decades and requires long-term government support.

The 60 minute PBS movie will be followed by a moderated panel discussion and audience Q&A

This will be the final of the 3 showings at Maryville.

Great film - not only informative, but also upbeat and downright funny at times. Dr. Alley should have his own series! Dr. Crossley and Mike Roberts were also very well informed and had no problem speaking their minds. Great audience participation, too!
