Earth Ethics Speaker: Arielle Klagsbrun

Earth Ethics will have an inspiring speaker at the November 7 Meeting at 7:30 pm in the Becker Hall.

Arielle Klagsbrun is challenging Peabody Energy, the world’s largest coal company and its influence in St. Louis politics. While Arielle was a student at Washington University in 2009 she was inspired to actively participate for reform and help educate the public about climate change. She became a grassroots key leader for (MORE) Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment. Arielle is building alliances with groups that seek the divestment of fossil fuel companies, and invest them in a local green economy and a sustainable future.

The Earth Island Institute’s New Leaders Initiative recognizes six young environmental activists each year. Arielle was among six national recipients to receive the 2013 Brower Youth Award, for outstanding efforts to promote ecological sustainability and social justice.

This meeting is for the young and young in spirit that aspire to have a greener future.
