I'm an entrepreneur and energy policy advocate. I founded White Caps, Green Collars in 09; we apply reflective white roof coatings. Have worked to improve state and nat'l enviro & energy policy since '02 (RenewMO, Blue Green Alliance, Sierra Club).
There's been a sea-change in public awareness about climate change in just 10 short years: That it's happening, it's dangerous, and it's us--but we can do something about it.
Action. We can inspire and support each other, for starters--it's easy to get discouraged. And by working together, we can have a real impact. As labor leader Nicholas Klein said in 1914 (attributed to Gandhi, too): "First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win."
Excited to see so many folks there committed to taking action.
Hi Jill and welcome to the group!!
Thank you for coming to the Climate Reality St. Louis last night. I really enjoyed hearing what you have to say about the renewable energy issues in Missouri and the latest renewable standard ballot initiative. I hope you will make it to our next meeting in March. I hope Climate Reality St. Louis will form a partnership with Renewable Missouri to make renewable energy a higher priority for Missouri. Let's keep in touch.
