Meetup starts at 6:30pm, with 30 minutes of social time. Beginning at 7pm, The Able Few's Michael Bishop will present Git Flow:
Releasing software is great. Version control helps, but it still asks you to be the keeper of your code. If you have lots of components and different projects, versioning can become a nightmare to keep track of. What went live? When did it go live? What's deployed right now?
Git Flow is an answer to that: an organized way to manage your releases. Michael will demonstrate how The Able Few leverages Git Flow to manages its releases of code for clients and internal projects alike.
Starting about 8:15pm, we'll move into a hacking session to experiment with the material that's been presented, and with JavaScript and node.js in general.
Complementary sodas and sandwiches will be provided, and the pub downstairs serves good beer, so come hungry, come thirsty, bring your laptop and be ready to code!
Thanks for the great preso last night, Mike. For those interested in a Git GUI tool for Windows & Mac that has GitFlow built right in, check out the free SourceTree from the Atlassian guys: http://www.sourcetreeapp.com![]()

Mike's presentation on "Git Flow", originally scheduled for March 21, has been bumped back to April 18, owing to the cancellation and rescheduling of Nick Apperson's "Metaprogramming" presentation.
