Super Ball (The Super Bowl edition of Craft & Crab

  • February 2 · 3:30 PM

This event will take place at my home.  Only participants will get an email with the location.

Super Bowl Sunday is a day to watch commercials and get your craft on!  If you would like to spend game day with fellow Nerdy Girls who are also of the crafty stripe join us.  I cannot promise that you will see much of the game, and if it goes into Downton Abbey time we will take a vote about changing the channel.

I will make a pan of Pesto Chicken and have some Chicago style Italian beef sandwiches, and some killer Sangria on hand.  You bring the rest.  (Yes everyone will have to bring something to share.)

Pack up your craft project, and make something to share and come enjoy Super Ball Sunday.

For anyone who heard me talk about hosting a freemarket (like a garage sale, but everything's free and we get Goodwill to haul away the leftovers), I thought I'd elaborate on what I'd want in a location:

    - free
    - indoor or covered (e.g., covered parking lot)
    - easily accessible by low-income folks (unemployed, underemployed, people on disability, students, etc.)
    - ample parking
    - on or very close to a bus route/Metrolink stop
    - not required, but it would be great to find a place that can provide tables

So if anyone has any leads, I'd appreciate them. Again, I am thinking of holding it in April or May.

    Thanks!

    February 2

  • Amanda

I'm running a little bit late. I will be there closer to 4 than 3:30!

    February 2

  • Amy Rickles

Just got home from lunch with a friend, and my stomach isn't too happy. I hope it wasn't something I ate! Anyway if my stomach doesn't start feeling better, I am going to stay home. :-(

  • Natalie

I am SO SAD!! I was super looking forward to this but I have been in bed since Friday with a horrible sore throat, possibly strep. I don't feel up to hanging out and certainly don't want to infect anyone so I have to bow out. Have as much fun as possible without me ;)!

    February 1

    • Ann Marie Stracuzzi

:( you will be missed. Feel better!

      February 2

    February 1

    • Maureen

Mary Jo I have sent it out twice. My email is [masked] If you email me I will send the address to you.

      February 1

    • Ann Marie Stracuzzi

Some how I missed it too, I'm emailing you

      February 2

Not feeling like lugging the crock pot, so I'll be making dill dip & rye bread. I'll be using no fat Greek yogurt & smart balance mayo, so the dip will be a low/healthy fats option. Also, I always have a couple of folding chairs & camp chairs in my trunk. I can bring a 4ft skinny table too if it's still needed.

    February 1

    • Maureen

Amy I think the table Colleen is bringing will be enough. Looking forward to our little party tomorrow.

      February 1

  • Amy H.

I will be bringing mini deep dish spinach pizzas, a bottle of cheap Riesling (impulse-buy-at-Aldis cheap), and I can also bring a card table and some folding chairs if they're still needed.

    February 1

  • Maureen

Colleen I have a cupcake tree, so there are 7 spaces left on the tree if anyone else would like to bring cupcakes.

    January 31

  • Colleen Crank

And a table. I'll be bringing the 5ft table.

    January 31

  • Colleen Crank

I'm bringing a 6-pack of bakery cupcakes and a 6-pack sampling of Shock Top Beer and Angry Orchard Hard Cider.

    January 31

  • Mary Jo Mueller

So what do we still need?

    January 31

    • Maureen

Mary Jo, Classic potato chips would be appreciated. Chicago style beef is usually served with french fries, but I don't want a deep fryer in the house. They always kind of scared me. (Former restaurant manager who had a grease fire once!) Chips would be great.

      January 31

  • Robin Walsh

Unfortunately I am no longer going to be able to join you ladies this Sunday. Looking forward to the next Craft & Crab.

    January 31

  • Robin Greene

    January 31

    January 31

Do you still need a table? I have a 5 ft table with adjustable height.

    January 31

  • Natalie

Now I'm undecided as to savory vs sweet. You guys tell me. Sausage and cheese tray, garlic and onion dip, or cream puffs.

    January 28

    • missy

      Savory

      January 29

    • Natalie

Ok sausage and cheese it is! No cooking for me! Thanks, Missy!

    January 28

    • Sharon

Doh! I should have read your post before going to the store.

      January 29

I've decided on guacamole, black bean corn salsa, tortilla chips and assorted non-alcoholic beverages.

    January 29

  • natalia valero

    January 29

    1 · January 28

  • Christina

    January 28

    • Amy Rickles

Yes, if you have an outlet I can use also, I will take something in the crock pot, either little smokies or a dip of some kind. If not, it'll be a cold dip. (And chips for the dip.)
