The next STL Poetry Meetup is December 15, 2012
Hello Poetry Lovers!
Our (always optional) prompt for this month is to write a poem starting with the line: “The family business is never finished”. That sure is open to interpretation! Please have fun with this!
We are meeting at the home of Donna Witteried in Wildwood. My house will be decorated for XMAS and will have a fire in the fireplace along with spiced wine to drink. We start happy hour at 4pm and poetry at 5:00 pm. This is a private residence, and so the exact address will not be posted publicly on the site. Instead we will send the address via email on the day prior to the meeting to all members who RSVP-ed. Please get those RSVPs in as soon as possible so you will be sure of getting the directions. Otherwise you must email or phone me directly. If I have enough time, I’ll check for late sign-ups until I leave for the poetry meetup. But please do not rely on this.
As always, the writing prompt is completely optional. If the assignment does not inspire you then please just bring whatever you’re currently working on, something old you haven’t read in a while, the work of another poet you enjoy, or just come to listen. We just want to hear and share poetry, so it’s all good!
In January, we will be back in South City at the home of Carol Haake’s, writing a poem in either sonnet or villanelle form (I will post details of the form a little later). Lots to write!!! But enjoy.
Keep writing, Donna
