Mob Programming is a development practice where the whole team works on the same thing, at the same time, in the same space, and at the same computer. This is a “Whole Team” approach to doing all the work the team does – including coding, designing, testing, and working with the “customer” (partner, Product Owner, user, etc). We'll take a look at the practice and explore the benefits and some ideas you can try on your own team.

To be discussed:

How can 5+ people be effective working on 1 thing?

Guidelines for successful collaboration

Mechanics of Mobbing

Tools for mobbing

Workspace setup

The theory of why mobbing is effective.

Test Driven Development (TDD)

Working with Product Owners

Woody Zuill is part of the team where Mob Programming originated. The timelapse video ( ) of him and his team started the entire “craze”.

Woody Zuill brought his wife and Mob Programming team to share approach, ground rules of respect and dignity, and details of how they set up and operate daily. People were really interested, great questions, touching slides with cute graphics by his wife!
