Johanna Rothman, High Tech Product Development Management Expert And Author, Discusses Effective Project Portfolio Management Techniques. Host, Cindy F. Solomon is joined by co-host, Esther Derby.

Project portfolio management is where strategy meets execution. It should be easy to do, but with competing needs and never enough people, it's darn difficult to make decisions. However, there are ways for the managers and/or PMO to rank projects and make decisions. And, with agile and lean approaches to project management, project teams can help the leaders make their decisions by finishing work frequently and demoing work to the leaders. It takes work on both sides to make the decisions work and stick. What does not work is multitasking!

Johanna Rothman, High Tech Product Development Management Expert And Author, will speak at the weekly Global Product Management Talk on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the simultaneous times of 11:00 AM Pacific Time, 12:00 Noon MST Denver, 1:00 PM CST Chicago, and 2:00 PM EST Boston. Participants are welcome to listen live at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/prodmgmttalk, call in to talk on the show (323)[masked] and to participate on Twitter by following @ProdMgmtTalk and tweeting using the hashtag #ProdMgmtTalk.

Johanna shares, "Product management provides the product strategy. Senior management provides the corporate strategy. Project portfolio management is where the corporate strategy meets the product strategy. I'm so excited about the chance to chat with the Global Product Management community and explain project portfolio management, and hear their concerns and issues. I am sure this is the beginning of many "aha" moments inside organizations."
