Boston Product Management Association 2014 Gala Event

The science of product management has evolved radically in the last few years. Silicon Valley principles – such as Customer Discovery and Lean Start-Up – are rippling through organizations, transforming how products are conceived and built in companies large and small.

As the keynote speaker, venture capitalist and Harvard Business School Professor Jeff Bussgang will share the implications of these new techniques and how they’re turning the world of product management upside down.

Keynote Speaker: Jeffrey Bussgang

Jeff Bussgang is a general partner at Flybridge Capital Partners, an early stage venture capital fund in Boston and New York City, and a senior lecturer at Harvard Business School where he teaches a class on entrepreneurship and lean startups called Launching Technology Ventures. Jeff was previously an entrepreneur, initially starting as a product manager at e-commerce pioneer Open Market (IPO 1996) and then later serving on the executive team as vice president of marketing and business development. After Open Market, Jeff co-founded and served as president and chief operating officer of Upromise, the college savings loyalty program (acquired by Sallie Mae in 2006). Jeff is the author of Mastering the VC Game and writes a popular blog on the startup ecosystem called SeeingBothSides. He holds a BA in Computer Science from Harvard University and an MBA from Harvard University.
