As many entrepreneurs can attest, it’s hard to find funding for truly revolutionary early-stage ideas.

Many investors shy away from risk. But organizations like the Thiel Foundation’s Breakout Labs embrace it. Peter Thiel’s San Francisco-based foundation is dedicated to funding projects at the forefront of science and technology.

Join us on Friday, June 28, as Breakout Labs’ Scientific Director, Hemai Parthasarathy, discusses the funding program and its application process. Other early-stage investors—Washington Medical Technology Angel Network (WINGS) and Puget Sound Venture Club (PSVC)—also will discuss and answer questions about their programs.

WINGS is a non-profit angel network that facilitates seed and early stage investments for medical technology companies in Washington State. WINGS considers Medical Technology opportunites in the areas of Therapeutic and Diagnostic Devices, Healthcare IT, Healthcare Delivery Models, and unregulated biotechnology tools.

Wayne Wager will be presenting for WINGS and to learn more about him, click here.

Come take advantage of this unique opportunity to connect Seattle’s brightest innovators with active early-stage investors!

Excellent insight from a few angel investors and great conversation amongst the group. Plus Redhook on tap... my first SURF meetup and I'm hooked.

Having a "complex" offering for a niche subset of finance - can make finding early stage non industry funding difficult. Some comments regarding how much "education" of non industry investors and in what form (pitch deck, exec summary, business plan etc) would be fantastic.
