It’s Innovative, Creative and Lucrative...but is it Patentable? -Lunch and Learn

Join us for this lunch and learn.

Your ideas are valuable. Your company’s ideas are your investment. And patents are a key way to protect and even monetize them. But what can be patented? What might be better suited for a copyright, trademark or even trade secret? We’ll cover what’s patentable and do a hands-on walk through of the challenges that can make or break your idea on its path to becoming a patent.

Presenter:
Jeremy is a Sr. IP Attorney in Intellectual Ventures’ Patent Prosecution & Asset Management team where he manages a portfolio of ~900 pending patent applications, as well as IV’s trademark portfolio. Prior to coming to IV, Jeremy served as senior counsel at Alliant Techsystems, Chief IP Counsel at James Hardie Research & Building Products, and as an attorney at Knobbe Martens Olson and Bear LLP.

Other Attendees
• Bill Thomas, VP Channel Licensing & Business Development
• Greg Kisor, VP, Chief Technologist
• Phyllis Turner-Brim, VP, Chief IP Counsel

I wasn't aware of some of the differences and intricacies between trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets. Very helpful information, especially around wording and key phrases to use or not use.
