Home and Body Defense Without Firearms - SkillShare

The Lethal/ Non Lethal meetup of February 2011 sacrificed precious nonlethal time and attention for the benefit of crisis control psyche and basic firearms knowhow.

S&T is designed to ease suffering in this world through empowerment of Feminine principles and energy. Love, sovereignty, mercy, nurturer and guardian among them. With that said, we will continue to strive to serve the least among us. On this particular Sunday afternoon we will focus on " Grid down " home invasion prevention AND self defense knife fighting for those with limited combat experience, physical strength and mobility.

Grid down home invasion -

Early warnings without electricity

Physical and visual deterrents

Lethal / nonlethal options ( practical alternatives to guns )

Ballistic insulation

Safe room setup

Hand to hand combat/ knife fighting tips -

Taught by a long time S&T member with many years of martial arts training and women's self defense teaching under her belt, Carrie will cover the core basics that everyone should know in the unfortunate but daily occurrence of rape  and murder attempts ( The word rape will not be used during the actual meetup in an effort to keep this as upbeat and family friendly as is practical ). Firearms are the best force multiplier to keep unwanted people away from you and your loved ones, but sometimes your options are limited.

The entire meetup will take two hours, we will keep a tight schedule and keep on point. Please come and absorb vital teachings. This will be a focused and sober look at ways for you to control situations should you find yourself attacked with only yourself to rely on.

Really good information..especially for me, a woman, I never knew how to fight off an attacker with no weapons. I feel a LOT safer now.

I am sorry for anyone that came to Liberties and did not find their way to Liberty Lands Park. Thanks to Cliff we had a 2 hour "heads up" that a scheduling screwup ( the first one in 3 years ) that involved a massive fundraiser. I accept responsibility. I texted every member that I could just after I sent a mass email to the group. Cliff also helped by guiding folks to the park 3 blocks away. The sign with directions was left up at Liberties. Thank you Cliff.
    Carrie and Jared were wonderful.

The meeting yesterday showed that there were lots of creative ways to defend yourself in your home or out. I will continue to research online (youtube) the simple moves a person can do to bring down someone larger in the event of a personal attack. The generous donation of time and effort by the presenters will help others and there is no better way to help your fellow man. Thank you Carrie and Fernando! Peace.

At the last second the meeting was changed to a different location. I didn't check my email 'at the last second' so I went to the meeting not knowing the location changed. No one at Liberties knew of the meeting except one guy upstairs who said it was canceled and there was a sign out front naming the new location. I went to the new site and found no one there. What a waste of my time !

Thank you Carrie and Fernando ! I learned at least 10 new defense tricks that I can pass on and share to my family and friends. The event was so educational I didn't want to leave the park! You always surpass my expectations on every subject you take on. Oh, and thank you to Cliff for that wonderful display of bullet capacity, that was impressive!
